Years 7 and 8 follow this programme of study as part of their developmental education, as they approach their teenage years and ultimate adulthood.

Classes in this subject focus on the development of good life skills and how to cope with difficult situations which may arise in their interaction with peers and adults, whether at school or in a social situation.

They are taught such topics as, good study skills, how to ensure that they have chosen their friends wisely or how to deal with a bully.

The list could be endless and these are merely examples of some of the problems which young people face as they mature. We try to extend PSE beyond the classroom by being always available to them for consultation or as a ‘shoulder to cry on’ in the first instance.
